kitchen plinth LED strip lights-dishwasher

Hi, does anyone have any advice re fitting led lights along the underside of kitchen units. I have all the materials but can see a problem around the bottom of the integrated dishwasher as it needs to have a cut out in the plinth

LED is very much the present and will be the only option in the future. Why install a outdated technology like halogen or incandescent lighting? LED has many advantages with different colour temperatures, very good colour rendering, variable angles of light and of course low running and maintenance costs. Its very much down to choosing the correct LED lighting for your project.

Warm is a much better option to create inviting and relaxing ambiance, i consider warm white to be 2700k but more often than not, when it comes to LED Strip lighting, our customers specify our 2500k and 97 CRI version. CRI is a critical aspect of lighting that often goes unmentioned - CRI stands for Colour Rendering Index and it's a score out of 100 that defines how well a light source will bring out the true colours of the objects it illuminates. So if you want your red sofa, green apple or yellow painting to look as vibrant and colourful as it should, you want CRI as close to 100 as you can get. We specialise in high CRI LED Lighting !

I have under my kitchen cabinets lit green permanently. It's a £5 -£10 max waterproof RGB strip fitted with a glue gun, has a remote control. I just made sure there was a low socket in the right place when I re-wired the kitchen.... people think it cost a fortune to have done.

UOhhhh, you're entering the Byzantine world or LED strip lighting (good luck). Its never easy with them but a few things to know are: Wattage is often not a good indicator of output; If you can, find the lumen output which is a measure of the light emitted (roughly 250Lm is equivalent to an old 25W bulb, 800Lm / 60W etc) If you can find the lumen output it will probably list it as per meter. Not all LED strips are created equal, common types are 5050's 5630's and 3528's...I have no idea what these number actually stand for but 5050/5630 are the brightest with 3528's being for accent lighting as they're slightly smaller. Take care for light colour, basic colours are warm white (3000k) like a incandescent bulb, and cool white (4000K+) like a CF or day white Number of LED's per meter is important, the fewer LEDs the less light they'll ultimately emit RGB are colour changing strips which are much more expensive and liable to fail then mono colour strips Try looking for dimmable strips, they are available but you often have to dig deep to find them. Ultimately, always (as you did) get a sample to try. Goodluck... Oh, you can try toning the output down with a filter, white masking tape can work if it's not seen to diffuse and reduce the light output.
