I guess your pendants weren't up yet in these photos? What do they look like? And what wall color(s) are there? And do you have a dining table already or what type/style/size will it be?

There’s 2 pendants above the island and one next to island. I’m having an off white/grey wall. The doning table I don’t have yet but will be glass with 6 navy upholsterEd chairs. I have brushed chrome handles and going for navy accessories to break up the grey. I’ll add more pics now as it’s progressed more

Yes. Erm im thinking glass. Possibly chandelier type above dining but struggling to find something pendant wise that will flow with it x

A rather failsafe combination is when the two types match either color or material.

My handles are brushed chrome though so will it look odd? Struggling to find decent lighting websites too that have anything that sort of ‘matches’

Hiya - I agree to keep the finish of the pendants the same as your handles. Also noticed that the colour of your units and floor are all cool toned so I would stick to that rather than warmer tones.

Also noticed you have very clean lines and straight edges with that in mind I suggest a simple elegant pendant in nickel also comes in three different sizes. Without knowing your ceiling height vs island height I would go for the medium sized 19.2W x 28.6H x 19.2D (cm):

Much as it’s lovely to talk about lighting, and there are some fab suggestions on this thread - I’m compelled to mention that you have a very unsafe breakfast bar position . Directly behind any hob is bad enough - but behind a gas hob is totally unsafe and you should find an alternative area for your bar seating. Unless this is an opening that you will slide a table under at 90degrees to the island - not a bar area at all ? ( clutching at straws ?)

That's a good call OnePlan, it does look a bit worrying.

Wren kitchens did our plan, this is the first kitchen I’ve had to plan properly as our previous houses already had a kitchen in. We was told the only place we could have it was there as if we had it on the end we couldn’t then have a wrap over worktop.

Safety has to be prioritised over style. Surely Wren knew that?! Very concerning. Gas hobs can flare up and could easily burn someone sitting so close by, who would not be able to move away as quickly as someone stood at the hob.

If you send over the entire room plan to me I will see if there’s a possibility to put in a safer option . Maybe a wooden semicircle breakfast bar that comes out under or ontop of your current worktop - that pushes people away from the danger area - or the table at 90degrees option I mentioned before ?! But a lot depends on the space you have on this side of the island .
