Well said! I agree with you OnePlan , Daisy and Beano too. The times us regular Houzzers make an effort to answer dilemmas, find photos etc, and not even a Like, let alone thank you! I’m going to start saying things like “Hello, anyone there? Answer please!”. It’s just downright rude.

Tbh I think @Sonia is the king of posting pics to help! You have the patience on a saint :-) @Jonathan takes a lot of time of to work on plans too, they are less visited threads, I’m useless at that so can never add, @minnie101 puts lots of thought in her replies too, the kitchen thread for one! @Maryna Drobot at Cinnamon Space is fantastic at her renders too! there are others but these ones really shine for me!

i know this place is made up of a lot more and we all do our wee bit, just want to give a wee clap to the above mentioned.

@Beano that’s so kind of you. I enjoy helping people so it’s no hardship, but a thank you is always nice even if people don’t like my suggestions lol! I’m in awe of @Jonathan because I see a plan and my brain shuts down, so to see him swop plans about is just amazing. Let’s not forget the queen of garden design plans @rachelmidlands - a garden goddess! And @colourhappy the queen of colour. Of course there are so many more on Houzz that help but credit where credit is due!

I echo @Beano and @Sonia's comments. I really look out for the comments from everyone mentioned. I love the ease and familiarity you bring to this forum. #youguysgivegoodHouzz. You all rock! :-)

There are a lot of contributors on here that certainly spend a lot of time trying to help. When you get no feedback it is rather disheartening.

Let’s also not forget Rinq who has offered some great kitchen ideas.

Although I agree with the responses above, on the whole I do think the requests for help here are quite polite and kind and I actually don’t really experience too much in the way of unmannered ‘demands’,

Moreover, I find this forum extremely helpful and a lovely, friendly place to be.

I think all the regular contributors to the Houzz discussions are all fabulous!!! Although Houzz does has a fair few glitches sometimes which makes me think that this could be a reason for OP not responding. I don’t care, I love design, interiors and so on and love reading all the posts and helpful advice and contributing when I can.
I have to agree with ED though and say this forum is wonderfully polite and friendly, unlike the Screwfix forum where I’ve seen some of the worst arguments ever:)

I agree with all the praise heaped on the contributors mentioned above, all of whom have given me invaluable advice, and have educated me in design and diy. I'll add Brandler London because without Chris' advice my understairs drawers would be be very much wonkier. Thank you all for helping me get my house sorted!

I agree that in general this forum is the friendliest I’ve ever been on, and I’ve tried a few! I found Mumsnet the worst - so judgemental and just horrid. I’m amazed that people pour their hearts out to a load of strangers and then get upset at some of the replies. Still nice if people say thank you though.......

The main reason I 'came back' to this forum (after the first 4 years of motherhood) is because I missed the friendly neighbourhood feel. Besides, channeling my inner creativity into helping people with their Design Dilemmas is a win win situation. Best hobby ever! :) :)

I do wish the original posters would post more results, would be great to see how their projects have evolved and/or finished. Joy and gratitude is the best payment for free advise.

I was actually quite surprised by this post as I do find everyone really thankful on here, and most posts do come with a please as well.

I am going to upload pics on friday of my almost finished kitchen!!!! My lights are getting put up tomorrow and cornice/plinth getting finished too! New floor down too after it all had to be lifted!

I agree with all of the above, and thank you Sonia I am really not the Queen of colour, but I do understand it a bit (mainly through getting it wrong so often over the years). I like the challenge of trying to explain it to people, 'tools not rules' as the saying goes. One American contributor once tried to reprimand me for explaining how it works to someone and implied that explaining it was giving too much information away! I have to say I have learnt so much form this forum and the lovely people on it.

Thanks Beano : ) I don't really contribute much nowadays but there are a number of great contributors on here that do. Whilst I agree the majority of Houzz is lovely and friendly I do agree there are a few (non-regular) posters who pop up every now and again and could be slightly more appreciative. I don't expect a "like", you could get something wrong (!) or just totally misunderstand their style but I don't think it hurts to say thanks (especially as you're prompted!). Whilst everyone who contributes does so as a hobby/passion/professional etc it does mean giving up their sometimes precious time to help a stranger. I know some things may only take minutes but people often give up hours of their free time, sometimes going back and forth for days to redesign a house or kitchen!! (Clearly not talking about myself!)

It’s lovely when someone helps another out - the ‘I did good feeling’ is worth putting the effort in ... but sadly I don’t get as much free time to Houzz anymore - and I get a bit distracted with threads out of order on the app and other quirks that have made Houzzing a bit more complicated than it once was.
MrOnePlan used to work away all week - but he’s now working from the same office as me - which is lovely - but again cuts into my Houzz time ... ( and my desk space !) I do keep popping in and trying to catch up ! Worth it when you see so much clever help going on ! Keep up the great work everyone !!! ;-)
