Which flooring do you prefer?
Comments (3)Hi Katie, Wood effect tiles are an option however you'd be surprised where real wood flooring can go. All our engineered/solid wood flooring is suitable for any room excluding wet rooms. The advantage over tiles is that it can be easily repaired if scratched/damaged. Also in terms of heat, if used with underfloor heating it will hold the heat for longer periods of time as tiles tend to disperse heat faster. Wood is a better natural conductor of heat as opposed to stone/tile, hence why we use them with fireplaces/barbecues etc. (please only use engineered wood flooring with underfloor heating). Not only that but if you wished to change the colour of the floor in 20-30 years it is easily done by simply sanding and applying a stain/varnish. Our flooring has been used in restaurants/bars hotels, as well as residential properties, so do not rule it out as there are many designs/styles available from standard planks, to antique boards, chevrons, Versailles panels, herringbone etc. Just have a quick look through our projects to get an idea. Comments (10)I think that these cabinets are a nice choice and I think wood has a natural warm ness so hubby shouldn’t worry it will look cold. Most likely he means that it is too pale for his taste but of course you can add colour to the wall later if he still feels that way. Perhaps you can find a wallpaper you like for a feature wall in the snug. I also liked some of the concrete style tile suggestions. For me I am not keen on kitchen layout particularly the oven position and the peninsula. I think the peninsula cuts in half an otherwise spacious room and is a barrier to accessing your fridge and oven. To me it feels like you missed the opportunity to make the kitchen feel bigger and the kitchen is probably occupying a very similar position to the outgoing one even though walls have moved. Personally I think you should be investigating a plan where your oven and fridge are towards the area you have put a breakfast bar. If you have longer runs of units this helps you see the wide drawers which is a particular feature of this contemporary kitchen. You could also increase the distance between the sink and the hob which is of course your working area. Personally I think the room would be feel bigger without the shown peninsula breakfast bar and instead a bistro table by the garden doors....See Morewhich flooring please ?

I thought that was number one design rule - but then I’m not an Interior designer .... thanks...See MoreWhich floor 1st or 2nd
Comments (5)Hi Sunita Wood is a great option to bring some character to an open space, at Woodfloors4u we specialise in engineered and solid oak products. But firstly I would advise considering whether you want Engineered Wood or Solid Oak? Both have pros and cons but most clients now opt for engineered wood. Engineered products work with underfloor heating systems are less prone to warping and can be floated or glued down. We stock a wide variety of Natural Oak, Oiled or Lacquered products with various widths and thicknesses and lengths. Some examples of natural-tone floors are below with links to our website: 1: https://www.woodfloors4u.co.uk/product/natural-oak-150-x-4-15-x-1900mm-brushed-and-hardwax-oiled-classic-wood-flooring/ 2: https://www.woodfloors4u.co.uk/product/natural-solid-oak-125-x-18mm-uv-lacquered-wood-flooring/ 3: https://www.woodfloors4u.co.uk/product/natural-oak-220-x-3-14-x-2200mm-brushed-and-oiled-wood-flooring/ 4: https://www.woodfloors4u.co.uk/product/natural-oak-190-x-4-20-x-1900mm-oiled-wood-flooring/ 5: https://www.woodfloors4u.co.uk/product/classic-oak-190-x-3-14-x-1900mm-oiled-wood-flooring/ 6: https://www.woodfloors4u.co.uk/product/classic-oak-260-x-4-20-x-2200mm-unfinished-wood-flooring/ 7: https://www.woodfloors4u.co.uk/product/prime-oak-190-x-4-20-x-1900mm-oiled-wood-flooring/ If you are interested in any flooring products or would like to discuss the project please contact the office: Tel: 020 8500 1940 Email: info@woodfloors4u.co.uk Web: www.woodfloors4u.co.uk...See MoreEmma Lamb
