I wonder whether a darker wood effect tile would work on the floor? Darker wood seems to create a more classy feel whereas the pale wood tiles (which are nice) seem more beachy.

Hi Kim, your bathroom looks pretty compact, so my humble suggestion would be to tile only the bath/shower section and leave the other walls free of tiles - it will make the space look bigger and brighter. And maybe you could have the metro tiles laid vertically to give the space a bit different look rather than going for the usual horizontal pattern. Hello, I am renovating this bathroom of a flat in Switzerland I just bought. I dont know when it was last renovated but the building is 1969… the walls I believe are not plaster. I will rent it and want to get something low cost and sturdy. Was thinking about waxed « beton » but found out costs are huge, so no need to decide if tile over tile or just paint. The walls have quite a few holes of all those fixtures. I would love to make this a modern, minimalist, grey/white/brown/beige tones. Would love some advice, both for the method, but also aesthetics.
