daughters bedroom
hi my daughter is going to be 10, she has a tiny room been hanging quite a lot and alway feels it seems such a boring room, she is not too bother with me changing it but everything I show her pictures of pinky glamorous style kids bedroom, she always she mum wish I had a bedroom as nice as that. so I would really want to do something stunning with her's. she is very untidy .Any ideas what I could do

6 years agoThat room is so cute. You could add some art, or some butterflies flying up the wall behind the bed, if this isn’t too childish! Or you could add some colour to the walls such as a soft sage green which will look lovely with the pink. Or to give a more teen feel paint the wall behind the bed navy and create a boho look. Here’s some ideas

Comments (3)Lovely bed linen! I would suggest painting the walls in Farrow & Ball Dimity - it's a beautiful cream colour with pink tones. I think this would work wonderfully with the bedding as it will complement the blues and bring out the line of pink. As for the black metal day bed, this may look quite heavy for a girly bedroom so should be softened with plenty of cosy and textured furnishings like a natural sheepskin or perhaps you could consider painting the metal frame a cream colour? I've had someone offline suggest putting the desk/vanity type thing between the wardrobes so it sounds like that is a good idea. I was a little worried about it looking really cluttered when you walk in the room. Maybe more a dressing table with mirror above versus a desk with shelves above? Jonathan, thanks for the layout! I tried moving the bed around and did like it positioned up by the window like you suggest, the room feels more open that way. Do you think books should do above desk or on separate bookshelf. Do you think the desk should be made (we know a good carpenter) and painted same as wardrobes or should I get a 120cm like the Malm one from IKEA to slot in? Could paint doorhandles different colour? Also was planning on using same curtain poles as rest of house - chrome - but haven't got much space between window and wardrobe so am a bit worried it won't look right. We had white tracks before. Comments (9)I like the wall paper and although on my screen the wall paint colour looks a silver grey and the wallpaper looks a grey with a brown quality I think it will work when you have finished. Lots of people have a wobble before the room is finished and it looks a little bare. Personally I think you need to take at least one of the accent colours from the wallpaper such as the navy and use it elsewhere- such as lamp shades, soft furnishings and art....See More

this is what my daughter wants, I would also love to have a room like this, it's amazing. I would need 3 rooms the size she has even to consider it. Think I will stick and work with what she currently has
