Egyptian Cotton is a very nice neutral and I have it in my bedroom! You’re right, it needs colour and art on the walls. I wonder if introducing some colour by painting the wall behind the bed in another colour may be a good start. Navy is a lovely rich tone that will create a cosy feel, which you can then accessorise with cushions and a throw on the bed. I’ve shared a photo where the owners have used a russet tone in the accessories. I don’t necessarily suggest that shade but you can see how they have dressed the room and you could use any colour you like.

Is it quite a classical style you like and will look for ideas? I may be wrong but I'm not sure there's enough room for a chaise, what's the measurement from the radiator to the bed? It may also be impractical for pulling the curtains? How much space is there to the right of the window? Could you have an upholstered chair further into the corner?

if you would like to draw in the colours in the window glass, you could swap the table lamps for taller, more elegant styles and choose one of the colours in the window for the shade. The pink would bring colour. You chose well with your wall colour as I feel any of the glass colours would work. Another thought would be to see if you can find all three colours, or slight variations of the colours, in some art work for your walls.

Hi Minnie, you’re probably right-the depth of the bay window is 60cm so a chaise will be too wide, thanks for pointing that out. Maybe an upholstered bench seat might work. There isn’t any space to the right of the window so any chair would have to be quite petite. The wicker baskets were put there as we already had them but would like something a bit smarter now.
