Hi Julia, I think the bed would look better on the wall where the long mirror is. This will give you access all around the bed. I also think before you look at decorating, you look at getting some decent storage. The clutter and storage boxes look untidy. Maybe get a chest of drawers to store stuff in and remove those boxes. Your second picture is too dark to be visible. Once that is done then you can look at choosing decor for your room.

Yes put the head of the bed where the long mirror is (obviously remove the mirror first). I think your bed and your wardrobe don’t mix well. The bed is very classic country while the wardrobe is very modern and masculine. However, I will have a think of colours and styles. Is the room sunny most of the time, or darker?

sunny just such bad weather and I took it at wrong time of day will get better picture when sun comes out

I’m in agreement with Sonia. The head of the bed needs to be on the wall where you currently have the mirror.

I think your right will upload pictures when I clear boxes. I like traditional I would consider changing colour of wardrobe

Using your lovely bed as inspiration, I wonder whether a simple country look would be nice. If the wardrobe feels dark, you could paint it in a paler shade. Here’s a couple of ideas, one using green on the walls and the other using taupe. I think white bedding (Sainsburys do lovely ones) then some cushions and a throw at the end of the bed. A couple of bedside tables with drawers to give you more storage, then a lamp on each. If budget is tight look on Gumtree or eBay for second hand. Dunelm are very good for lighting.

Agree with most other posts. The bed needs to have access on both sides. I'd pick a nice calming shade for the wall tgat the headboard is on and stick to that for your accessories (bedding, curtains etc). Cant say what colour as everybody is different, my daughter loves blue but I find it makes me feel cold! I definately wouldn't go pastel though. The green that someone posted above looks lovely, but go with your gut instincts when you're looking at paint charts. You could even go with a red to match your picture but it's hard to carry off a red in a bedroom as many reds are too "tarts boudoir"!
The shiny black wardrobes scream of "teenage boy". Its not a very relaxing feel. If it's a cost thing, could you paint them in a cream or white to make them blend into the wall.. I'd use the middle of the wardrobes to store your boxes, if you need extra storage space. The storage boxes you have stacked up can be covered in whatever wallpaper or colour you pick for your wall.

I think like the others have said the reposition of the bed to the other wall would work really well. A warm neautral shade with lots of linen fabrics and textures would work nicely in here . As for the wardrobe you can get some great vinyls for furniture now that you can simply put over the top of it . This will completely change the look of it and is a really cost effective way of getting a new look on a budget !

For curtains a light linen style fabric works great in a bedroom . If you pair it with a seperate neautral black out blind inside the reveal of the window for practicality then you don't have to have a heavy or dark fabric on the outside . I'll send a pic of a example !

Blackout roller blind inside the reveal which you can barely see and then a beautiful linen/ natural sheer curtain on the outside for privacy but still get light in the room .

Ria by vinyls do u mean paint I was looking at Frenchie paint for wardrobe do u know if that will work

I meant an adhesive vinyl on a roll that come in different colours / textures and u simple stick it on( no glue needed ) . There's lots on the usual selling sites eBay / Etsy etc .... they come in all different textures patterns and colours. I have used them on a few furniture pieces and have worked great . Have also seen people do whole kitchens on a budget in it and they look amazing .
If you search for adhesive vinyl for furniture you will find them !
