As OnePlan says, layout works & not being greeted by a wc is a bonus! Get the lighting right & it won't be a problem not having a window. I would recommend having lighting switched separately as well as extractor fan,with secondary lighting for when you may need to use the wc in the night etc & don't want to be blinded by the main lights - wall lights or LEDs at low level under vanity unit, left wall & right wall from end of bath to wc for example. Invest in a mirrored cabinet with integrated lighting & shaver socket & would recommend a large mirror on the left wall to make the room feel more spacious. We have fitted a mirror from ikea several times on previous projects, 2m x 80cm for £80. Regarding tile choice I wouldn't be to concerned about the finish of the tile if your lighting is right. I have gone with the same tile for both walls & floor in ensuite & small bathrooms which helps the room feel bigger. Whites & neutral tones are always a winner in smaller spaces. Firstly I would see if there are any tiles left over to see if they are indeed misshapen- if they are then you might make different decisions about where to attribute blame. I would point out that a small tile has to be really badly misshapen to make a difference to the look (its more noticeable on big tiles). It’s unfortunate that the strategy by trades often seems to get finished to get paid without considering the implication of a poor finish. Personally I would want him to take a pass at the areas that are the worst, especially around the window where I would want the tile trim to be mitered. I would then put a very light grout to help disguise any minor imperfections. Personally I think this will be a lot more bearable when grouted but you must tackle the worst bits first.

And just for full disclosure I should probably add that a) I did not spend a furious 20mins cleaning these tiles before taking the pic and b) we do a lot of cooking including curries, sauces, jam making etc and other bubbly, splashy type stuff. Like Sonia says a quick wipe down is all it takes so if it's the mosaic style you want I would definitely go for it!! Along with grout sealant 😃

Yes I agree, I think tiles over the bath doesn’t work. It’s individual tiles not a big slab. Very much 3* hotel vibes rather than 5*! Would another option be to go flush with the tiles? If we did bath on top (or flush), how would you suggest waterproofing? Aside from relying on just the silicone seal between bath and tiles?
