undecided about a navy and grey themed kitchen extension. Any thoughts ?

Grey is one of my favourite colours when it is used correctly! But seems a little heavy for a kitchen? Do you have colours for worktops? Accents? Is there much natural light in this space?

Thank you both for replying. Yes Minnie101 you have the photos the right way round and that is the AA, good spot! I've just painted some AA & Bowler Hat on the wall, once it's dry I'll add it to the post as that really isn't the best photo you're right. Yes the eclectic design will have a lot of colour, I have a dark red (very close to ox blood in colour) leather sofa which would stay for that scheme and I'm thinking of adding lots more colour with artwork from artists like Patrice Murciano like the one here & adding the exact rug here which will cover most of the floor.

I would put black in. Goes with everything. I just put black in my kitchen and I love them. They will go well with your colour scheme. personally having different colour windows upstairs and downstairs would irritate me (so much that I changed all my upstairs windows to black to match).

I apologise if you’ve done this already but if you look on the Houzz photos section and select kitchens and then under area select “all Denmark” you will see lots of beautiful kitchens that I think capture the look you are trying to achieve. I’m going to have to agree with Jonathan and Sonia that very few of them are navy or grey. The Scandinavian look is about lightness and natural materials and so wood and white feature very strongly. I think that wood gives great warmth and interest in a kitchen and it is certainly on the way back but you can only really have wooden floor and units if there is a substantial difference in the colour tone. E.g a darker wood unit with a paler wood floor. Combined with white, it could look very timeless. If you did opt for a wood floor and some (maybe not all) white units, you could then go a bit darker with your worktops. Happy browsing!

It will look fab. A pale grey carpet is such a gentle colour and I don’t feel it would clash. You could add a rug if you wish as below, but entirely up to you.

Hi, I have a dark blue kitchen with grey Kardean flooring. I am not sure if uou are asking about 2 colour cabinets or how Navy/Grey would work together. I love mine. For now I have kept walls white, and worktop light.

I will agree with the above post about having very light walls and worktops. I have a dove grey kitchen, Wevet is in the tin ready to go over the already very pale walls to freshen them up when the new worktops go in which also have a white background.

We are thinking of navy units all way round the lower areas with light grey units to the upper areas. Worktops and splashback will be grey flecked corlon style material. Flooring maybe a concrete tiled lvt with grout strips.
