I think you can have any colour front door you like. With regards render, i'd go for a cool tone if you're having grey windows. Jasmine white looks good on the colour card, but my experience of Dulux and that shade in particular, is that they come up a lot lighter than you think they will, and the cards aren't that accurate. I've no idea if you can get testers of those.

Thanks so much for responding, I love greeny/grey colours but our next door neighbour has their front door that colour so didn’t want to appear to be copying. Grey might be nice but do you think it will go with the existing creamy colour of the render or will it look a bit odd? We are due to repaint it anyway, so could change the colour of the render? Ultimately the question is how do you want to feel when you open your front door? What impression do you want to give to guests, friends and family anyone who comes to your door? Colours all have different meanings to each of us. A bright yellow door signifies happiness and bubbly personality but that may not be for you if you want to an elegant feel to your front door. So it all comes down to how you want your home to feel? Uplifting, elegant, bright?

Thanks for all your feedback. I think you’re all right when it comes to sorting out the canopy rather than installing a porch. The windows are relatively new and there’s lots of them so replacing them is not an option. So we’re thinking of going for F&B Hague Blue with worn brass door furniture and definitely some plant pots either side.
