Colour advice Please

I am trying to decide on colours for a large bedroom with an east facing window and Victorian windows. I was thinking about going with Farrow & Ball Sulking Room Pink on the walls up to the dado rail and door and then F & B Purbeck Stone on on the higher part of the wall and ceiling. I would love some opinions on whether this combo would work. I also thought about F & B Hague Blue or Railings on the top part of the wall and on the ceiling? (I've tried adding photos to this post, but there doesn't seem to be an option to do this).

I’m not sure that would go, but then I am very traditional in my decor style. I prefer my ceiling white or off white which seems to make a wall colour shine. I’ve seen Hague Blue walls with Wimborne White above the picture rail and ceiling and I think it’s stunning. The picture below has Cabbage White on the ceiling. I’m sure others will disagree on here, but you did ask!

Ultimately the question is how do you want to feel when you open your front door? What impression do you want to give to guests, friends and family anyone who comes to your door? Colours all have different meanings to each of us. A bright yellow door signifies happiness and bubbly personality but that may not be for you if you want to an elegant feel to your front door. So it all comes down to how you want your home to feel? Uplifting, elegant, bright?

My kitchen is painted a duck egg blue too. I have cream units, oak worktops and a white ceramic sink. I agree with colourhappy to get the kitchen fitted, fit the worktop and sink then look at painting the walls, although your wall colour is soft and will probably go well. I’d go for a white worktop, with veining if you want some pattern, then go for a white sink. Black just wouldn’t go with the soft colours and they never look clean, especially if you have hard water. Although I love my duck egg walls I’m going to paint them F&B Oval Room Blue, which is a darker version. Just fancy a change! This is a corner of my kitchen.

Hello, Thank you all so so much for such lovely compliments and ideas. Yes I agree the lighting in the photo does look very white, it’s actually all warm light bulbs so I think it’s just because it’s a photograph. We have since removed the pendant lights in the kitchen area and replaced with aged brass spot lights with a warm white bulb. The panelled wall is natural calico from dulux - all we could get last lockdown where we live. It’s a lovely colour however when I tried it on the plastered wall in the kitchen area it looked awful. I am seriously considering strong white though after having a google it looks lovely! I love your ideas Brett - thank you! We’ve just painted the beams in an off white to lighten up the room a little. Thanks so much!

Slipper Satin is a lovely neutral that i think you could carry down to the walls as well. Then pick up the soft green and mulberry into your soft furnishings. If you want something a bit darker then Drop Cloth is a lovely green grey, but may clash with your dresser?
