I've got an LG slide in range (had it for 3 years, since my renovation), and I love it. It's an induction top with convection option in the oven, and knobs.

There are only two 30" induction ranges with knobs available for less than $3000.

• LG LSE4616ST (BB, AC)
• Samsung NE58K9560WS (BB, AC)

^^For a bit more, you can get the ge model that has a double oven. I don’t have it, but I’ve seen it recommended here on houzz and have been eyeing it myself.

I guess it depends on your definition of "mid-range".

• Cafe CHS900P about $3400
• LG Studio LSIS3018SS about $3500
• Cafe CHS950P2MS1 about $3800

i have the exact same question, but am open to up to 7k if it’s a fantastic buy/range. our main issue is we despise curved handles.

We have Samsung RF and wanted to go with the same brand induction range. But after reading negative reviews about Samsung we just ordered Frigidaire with air fry and convection oven.

The Cafe CHS900P, LG Studio LSIS3018SS, and Cafe CHS950P2MS1 do not have curved handles.

I have been doing extensive research on buying a range as I have to replace all kitchen appliances in the home we are renovating. I think I'm gonna go with gas but I've looked a lot into induction and Miele makes an amazing induction range from the research I've done. Maybe it's something to consider??? I also really like that it has knob controls.

Can't go wrong with Miele induction or Miele ovens, so their range should be great. I have a cooktop and an electric wall oven and a CSO, very happy camper. I would not hesitate to get their induction range.

The OP said he was looking for a mid-range appliance. $8,000 is not mid-range.

Yale Appliances (which people love on Houzz) reports that a whopping 23% of Miele induction cooktops required service during the first year. GE and KitchenAid: zero.

As Celery above has done I would recommend the Frigidaire with Airfry convection range. Frigidaire/Electrolux has brought the benefits of induction cooking to every price range. This particular range does not have knobs but you will soon adapt, and it is a bargain price. As with any induction range I recommend an extended warranty but be aware that you could buy almost three of these Frigidaire ranges for the cost of one of the other more feature laden models and still have the main benefits of induction and convection oven.

Does anyone own one of the Frigidaire ranges? We too have looked at it and are questioning whether it is really worth it to spend a lot more on a range from a different manufacturer. I realize the looks aren't as nice as one step up like the GE.

I have another question for those of you who have slide-in induction ranges. When we looked at the ranges, the Frigidaire has a tiny lip all around the cooktop; others were just completely flat surfaces. What happens when you have a spill or boil-over on one of the absolutely flattop ranges? Do you have liquid running down the sides of the range?

Thanks to everyone who commented. We currently have a Samsung gas range that has had some issues, and where we are (western MA, which is not near a major metro area) it can be tough getting repair shops to work on Samsung or LG appliances, so that will factor into which brand we buy.

We purchased the Frigidaire model FGIH3047VF about one year ago and haven't had any problems. I would have preferred a range with knobs vs touch controls but couldn't justify paying the extra cost. We did get an extended warranty though.

Julieste- Yes, it just runs down the sides of the oven and adjacent cabinets. The GE has a kit you can buy to put along the gap. This has happened to me exactly once and it was a pain to pull out the range and clean up. With induction I have found the possibility of boiling over is so much less since when you turn down the heat the liquid stops boiling right away.

Nice to know that boil overs are less of a possibility with induction. The fact that the GE (one of our strongest contenders) has this add-on to prevent spills is good to know about.

LG cooktops have raised edges all the way around that helps contain spills. LG also makes the LSFL301S filler kit though it may be hard to find.
