Hi. It's hard to tell if this will work as I can't tell the door width but what if you were to build a ŵall to wall bookcase on the desk ŵall incorporating both the tv and radiator? Ignore the design of this one, was just showing a pic of one against a window, You may need to widen the pillar by the dining room entrance slightly. Perhaps ammonite by F&B for the ŵalls with a floor that picks up one of the tones in the table. I'd also paint the coving in the ammonite and a darker shade of grey for the bookcase. Have a 6ft sofa (allowing for side table and lamp) opposite the bookcase (not against the ŵall) with a chair angled in front of the bookcase and perhaps go for an upholstered stool on legs as per your inspiration pic. You could use Romans on the windows, maybe in a vertical stripe and then use geo patterns for the cushions. Re lights I'd add ŵall lights to the bookcase and a flush for the living room, preferably just 7 inches high. You can afford to hang something lower over the dining table. Are you keeping the tall cabinet? I think your current table will look lovely with some upholstered chairs

Eggshell paint is recommended for metal and woodwork. Personally I prefer a wipeable Matt paint. I think you go with the brand your decorator likes and that way you have a happy trade. And lastly I think a brilliant white paint will look awful in that room- really cold and clinical. I understand the instinct to go white in a windowless room but it doesn’t work, it doesn’t make it lighter. Instead I think you should choose a paint colour that looks good in electric light. Given it already has a lot of white in there I would avoid any watery blues. Yellows can look bad in electric light and are unflattering in the morning. I would choose a mid or dark grey with either a brown undertone or green quality. I also like teal and very dark blue or chocolate brown.

In theory the sage and plum should work really well but I agree it's making your lovely kitchen look rather drab. A quick search on Pinterest shows the majority of sage kitchens looking their most fabulous with whites, like Sonia suggests, (brilliant or off white) or cream tones.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! The little greene slaked lime paint certainly looks like a nice colour and along the lines of what i was thinking for the main bulk of the walls. I am new to this so still unaware of all these bespoke companies and what they can offer!! The point you make Daisy about possibly making a feature is interesting, what sort of contrast colour do you think would work well with such furniture? I have done a bit of research and seen this furniture used with blue colours in some applications, although not bedrooms. The only element of the furniture in the main bedroom is the recessed shelving unit as shown in the top photo - the rest are in the separate dressing room. Thank you once again.
