Bar Spot Lights

do you guys think bar spot light would work in a bedroom? or should these only be for kitchens?

Ooh no, just kitchens for me! I think side lamps for bedtime are lovely and cosy. You can have an overhead light for when you need brighter lighting.

If it was me, I would prefer a nice, low pendant light or chandelier, but if that's what you like and want then I think it would look fine :)

Like it too, however - if you have a good electrician, you could ask him to install some plugs that connect to the light switch in the living room. In this way, you could have 2 floor lamps (or one floor, one table) that you'd turn on from the switch (like in hotels). If you buy some good wall lights (up-downs are the trend atm), keep the chandelier and have a couple of floor lamps, you won't need to 'infect your ceiling with acne' (an architect saying about ceiling spots) - but I'd go for it in the kitchen. The picture rail looks too high to me - it could be that it's in line with the window frame; if you plan on a big reno, you should consider lowering it or if you keep it, paint the space between the rail and ceiling in the same colour as the ceiling, not the walls. Could someone help me to choose lights for my flat? I know what I want but I do not know where to find them. I want the lights to be trimless, downlights, recessed, round, 2700 (soft colour), not very visible standing out on the ceiling and I do not like the halogen that have lines, or the LEDs which have many spots like a bee house. What do you suggest?

Hi again. Your room is modern, contemporary and elegant and I'd definitely look to soften the look with a pendant light. I can estimate the size of your room and I agree with you, keep it simple and stylish. Quality, is your key here. I'd be tempted to look at glass, something that's reflective or that's clean (non-fussy looking) as you have a lot that's 'talking' in your room. I had spotlights added to my kitchen and dining room long after they were plastered. In the kitchen they cut a few circular holes and dragged wires from the center light (which I removed). In the dining room next to it they did the same but created a new wire to the switch. The end result was great and I just had to get a plasterer to fill in the few small holes that the electrician made. This was all done from below the ceiling - they did not use any access from above even though it was a two story house.
