How good does Bamboo look?
Comments (16)Thank you everyone. I was sorry to hear about GGDrive's misfortune with the flood but really enjoy hearing all your opinions. I had granite in my previous house and it looked gorgeous but from a practice point of view, it cooled the food quickly if you didn’t remember to use a cork placemat and is very cold if you lean on it to chat over a cup of coffee. It was also tricky to keep shiny, despite the special granite polish. Quartz is pretty too but both options cost more than I paid for the base and wall units. I saw a very impressive and economical Formica with oak woodblock finish, but was hoping to have a KARNDEAN wooden style floor and having read the discussions on HOUZZ, think the two would fight each other. The kitchen is small by USA standards and in a U shape with satin white units. Shall I A)emphasise a Spring Oak Karndean floor and find plain Formica (slate pic) or B)have the oak effect Formica worktops (see oak pic) and chose a slate tile effect Karndean floor? Comments (6)Thanks for all the comments! Now you've mentioned that I agree the TV would be better disguised on the blue wall - I hadn't really thought about that! Unfortunately the room layout won't work with the TV on the blue wall - we could potentially paint the wall with the TV on too but that would mean three blue walls which might be a bit heavy. With regards to the furniture under the TV - it is actually just a radiator cover. In hindsight I agree, it would have been better to get an extendable cover so we could have balanced it a little more but another one will probably set us back another £100 so we might have to make do with it for the time being unfortunately. Thanks so much for the tips on the gallery wall....See MoreHow do I get paint that looks like the grey in these lower walls?
Comments (21)I use a program called pipette, https://www.sttmedia.com/pipette-download and you can find the colour composition of any image ie rgb, cmy etc, its also the true colour of the image and not how your screen presents it. Obviously with a photo this won't be the actual colour and also with a photo the colour changes in different parts of the photo. You could then download colour charts and use pipette to see which colour is closest to the photo results or do a search on line for the #hex colour, you can try encycolorpedia.com and that gives you a list of paints that are close to it....See Moregallery wall. advice needed!
Comments (17)I don't think you're far off but the pink camper is too close to the frames to its right. Try to keep spacing fairly consistent between frames. So either move the big black frame and the one below to the right a bit or get rid of the pink camper van and put a smaller one there. Also add a small one bottom left. Personally I like all black frames but that's just me...See More- 5 years ago
