I agree with many of the suggestions above, especially that there's too much furniture in the living room. You're going to hate me for saying this but I think there's too much clutter and busyness overall for such a small space. I'd radically reduce the number of pictures and knick-knacks in both rooms – especially the living room – and move the ones you keep to less prominent places. I'd also take the coat rack and cookery bookshelves out completely, and replace the busy parquet flooring with either not-busy plank laminate or a simple-patterned or solid rug. Finally, I like trees but that spidery palm tree is hideous IMO.

To me a kitchen island would dominate the space and I'd prefer a table. Is there anywhere you could move the w/m and t/d to? Could you put a freestanding f/f on the right? This would free up 3 cupboards. Are you planning on replacing the kitchen soon? As you could then have other options such as tall units, extending it into the room more, breakfast bar etc etc. A good kitchen designer would make a huge improvement on the use of space I'm sure

Hello, What a great space! We have some products that may be of interest, both tiles and wood flooring. Two that spring to mind from our natural stone range are our Dijon Tumbled Limestone and our Dove Grey Tumbled Limestone, both are very popular in kitchens and I think would suit your kitchen colours and the look that you are wanting to create. The Dijon starts from only £37 per sqm, and the Dove Grey a bit more from £50 per sqm, inc VAT. If you wanted something really rustic, a tumbled travertine could work - our Light Tumbled Travertine or Country Mix Tumbled Travertine would work brilliantly in your space. Hello Tara. This is fantastic space for an entrance hall and you have already made a good start with the panelling and colour scheme. The area in-front of the fireplace would make a lovely reading space. As you already have 2 other separate living areas then I do not feel it is necessary to have such a big sofa in here. I would consider putting in 2 armchairs with a coffee table opposite the fireplace and by doing so it will still zone off this area from the hallway. I would then look at putting in a round table in the hallway area (the space can certainly take it) to really give you a 'wow' when you walk in and it will really help the space to flow as it looks like you can either walk in and straight up to the stairs, through to the rooms at the back or in to the reading area.
