Some (I'm guessing most) American style fridge freezers need extra space for their door swing, but yes, inbuilt ones take up 2 x 60 cm, that's probably 20 cm more. But you will have more space inside the fridge/freezer too. American style ones are big lumps, but offer less space inside (I have one). If you can, look for a fridge that has a fresh zone (I don't know the technical term, differs from brand to brand), keeps your meat and veggies fresh for longer. Anyway, it's something to consider. Choices, choices :-)

With a handleless door 19mm is just enough to open the doors, but not enough to take out the glass shelves. We mostly sell Siemens and Bosch (they're really twins), no problems with the veg/freezer boxes. Some of my customers are ok with the shelves staying in, but others add a filler of thicker panels on either side of the tall cabinets. Because the thicker panels don't fit in the slim lined top and side panel of the cooking are, you could make the countertop 65cm deep, so it will stand out. I'd also suggest removing the vertical 'handle strip' on the left of the oven. Hinges on the left side, it'll be fine. Also, pick a fridge cabinet without the little panel on top. There'll probably be a gap when opening the fridge door, but it'll look better on the outside. (Have a shelf on top of the fridge and you can store some large plates or oven tray there, just make sure there's enough ventilation for the fridge.) Or.. Add another 'handle strip' on the right hand side of the fridge. And keep the strip left of the oven. Balance.

We had an integrated one like you describe in previous house - SubZero - it was great! But now we have a full larder fridge and honestly I don't miss the wide fridge. I probably miss the freezer drawers more, but they didn't actually hold that much - not compared to a full larder freezer anyway. The best thing was probably never having to bend down to access fridge drawers as the fridge was all at the top - but you could have two integrated fridge-freezers side by side to get that functionality - a friend has that and although you have to know which fridge something is in, it works well for them - and they have both opening in the middle so it looks like it'll be a double-wide unit but it's actually two 600mm units side by side.

Would you consider a freestanding fridge/freezer instead? I have an integrated one and the space inside is seriously compromised. The fridge and freezer sections are tiny. We inherited a Caple (which I remember from when I designed kitchens is a rubbish brand too) fridge/freezer and I hate it. If it is a standard 600mm width then try and get Bosch, Siemens or a german brand to fit the housing. You can't go wrong with freestanding Miele or Liebherr either. It's also a nuisance when things go wrong to have integrated. Freestanding can always be replaced. Consider a housing for freestanding if you don't want it to look too dominant.
