Comments (10)Hi Chris Martin, First of all if your property does not fall within a Conservation Area or is Listed, then you are allowed to build a loft Conversion and an outrigger similar to your adjoining neighbour on the right hand side provided that the volume of the proposed outrigger and the Existing Loft with a dormer roof do not exceed 40.00 cubic metres to falls under ' Permitted Development ' where Planning Permission is not required. I have done several of such projects to confirm that you will not require Planning Approval as such. However you will have to modify the staircase from first Floor Landing to First Floor if you want the finish floor level of the Outrigger to be at the same level as that of the Finish Floor level of the Existing Loft. Comments (13)Eaves storage a plenty! Imagine hatches next to the nightstands and in the bathroom. I removed the closed off dressing area as it only chops up the grand loft feeling. Going clockwise starting top left: Window seat with storage underneath, tall wardrobe, little desk, tall wardrobe (for towels and such). Bathroom door moved over a bit, could be pocket, but a regular would be fine as well. Vanity about a meter wide, toilet, shower, eaves storage, freestanding bath. Then more tall wardrobes (either with or without the corner bit), slightly deeper wall between stairs and bed, not much else....See MoreCompletely redesigning living room due to loft conversion and building
Comments (2)Hi Julie, is your fireplace located at the bottom wall? If this is the case, since you have to remove the fire flue and you are thinking of removing the fireplace, have you considered closing the wall there? This space could be used for storage options, or bookcases, or anything else really, even a beautiful large print. I would, then, place your L-shaped sofa just against the wall that will close the staircase, having the TV in front of it, adding a nice rug, an armchair and a coffee table. Should you wish to get more ideas about your room layout, I offer affordable e-design packages on my website www.amuriinteriors.co.uk Best of luck with your project!...See MoreEllie H
