I meant that you had drawn a run of units that was 20’ long and you could likely get a great kitchen into a smaller space, leaving room for dining. Attaching a dining table to the island is a stylish look and often helps people with insufficient room. Personally though I would prefer the flexibility of a freestanding table that you can extend.

I’m glad you like the idea for the dining table! If I’m being completely honest I don’t really know whether the new layout ideas really give you any more useable space. Do you need a desk in the room? If so it might be worth having the bit of extra space but it could be worth making the garage storage space into a study space as well rather than having the desk intrude on your living space too much. What do you think? If you kept the bigger storage room then you could maybe do something like the picture attached so having a multi purpose room?

I can’t help but think a shallow, wide, and tall pantry could be put against the angled wall in picture 1, without the need to get into building works.

@Devy Rahmawati the space isn’t big enough for your suggestions. I agree with your point about the island but I have viewed one in a showroom and really like being able to have a flower display in the middle without getting in the way if use. Island also sits under a sky light which works great. Good idea about the fridge, I want to keep it at the edge of the kitchen so when people come to open it theyre not getting in the chefs way, so either edge is fine. There really isn’t enough room for both kitchen, island and table in that space. we have a wheelchair user and need to consider paths of travel very carefully. I had thought about the sinks being in front of the window as well. im not precious about the layout of the the ensuite but would prefer the door not to face the entrance of the bedroom and would like an american style separate toilet. thank you for your suggestions. @minnie101 Sorry those stiars are to the basement that we are putting in. I had the same thought about blocking off the toilet and using as a boot room too, i’ll have another look at this again. @Jonathan the front door is right, i jsut uploaded the plan the wrong orientation
