Looks as though it would be difficult to change or move sink so I think you do need to consider changing the window. Perhaps you could change for a shorter window, top at the same place but bottom finishing so it can be opened, and blocking in the lower section so you can add tiles for a splashback to cover any internal damage made by the extra work. Your builder would be able to match existing external finish.

Hi Daisy Yes your husband is correct, it's a floating mullion. Sorry for the confusion! We decided against a fixed mullion as we are wanting to do something similar to this photo. We weren't asked which way we wanted the windows to open - does your husband know unfit is an easy job to transfer the floating mullion to the other side? Many thanks :)

Ah we are doing something similar and have the same dilemma. After discussions with our architect and numerous image searches I've come to the conclusion that you can either have the frameless look as per your pic (but it will be fixed shut) or an opening window, but then more of the window seat structure needs to be solid, otherwise you end up with too many frames and it starts looking like a greenhouse. As regards the opening window, a pivot window doesn't work as too much gets in the way of the seat. We don't want bifold or sliding due to the line. We are going for a framed window looking out to the garden which hinges down one side - the frame won't be super thin but I will live with that. Fixed glass on one side of the seat. Solid down the other side (where the hinge is) and solid roof.

Wow @rinked! Thank you very very much for taking the time to shaffle the furnitures around for me. That's great!!! :) Really really appreciate it!! I do hope I won't lose the cosy feeling of the living room to be honest but I really feel I lack space to move around right now. From time to time, we also use the place to host any guests over with an airbed or use it to put laundry to dry so space is really vital to us. The sofa is actually orange, see photo below, and I don't really like the colour so I was thinking to buy a sofa cover to dress it up. I have heard designers advise to use light colours for the couch so not sure if I should pick a beige or a light pattern like the ones below. And I was also thinking of a rug as well so I guess the best thing is to first buy the sofa cover and then move to the rug to match everything. You can find the pictures of the different cupboards below: I do know and understand that this is far from ideal... But when I bought everything I was just in a hurry to do so since we didn't have ANY storage within the place. I do want to repaint them at some point but not sure this can be done within the house and we don't have a garden or so. Looking forward to your answers people!!! Your help is valuable and greatly appreciated!!! Really praise google for finding you!!! :D
