Hi UK Design Man In my opinion adding light into the vaulted ceiling really lifts the room and adds depth to the whole environment. You can achieve this using pendants (the Le Soleil would look great), wall uplighters (such as the Elle wall light) or recessed floor lights (like the Tera 7). Adding in an extra circuit for floor or table lamps gives the room the versatility it needs to adapt to your mood. Hope this helps, Rich Darklight Design

am having difficulty figuring out the first two photos. but the second makes me think of this, so be very careful!! i'd be looking at places to put up wall lights i think, so they can light up the ceiling as well as the walls/art.

Hi Jo, Love the high ceilings. Having floor to ceiling wardrobes may be quite overpowering in the room and take over from the space. My thought would be to have a partial wall behind the bed that would create a walk in wardrobe and then place the bed in front. I am attaching some ideas below. Hi Can you explain a bit more about the function of the room? Is there a table under the pendants? Do you have any furniture like sideboards where you could place lamps for soft evening illumination? It looks to me like all the light fittings are illuminating the ceiling which seems a bit pointless and would be better directed downwards. The uplighters could become wall lights which light up and down. If there is no table or furniture to be illuminated I would do away with the pendants altogether. If there is a table I think you actually need lower hanging pendants for them to create lighting for dining. I think you need to look at your wall lights as well. Are you happy to post any more pictures that would be helpful.
