I compromised the build of my GFE. I ’lost’ my dining room window to creat a wetroom/bathroom. It doesn’t now have any natural light. I removed the wall between the living an dining room, but it’s still very dark. I’m thinking to create a ’false’ window with LED lights behind. Has anyone done something like this?
Thank you Jonathan. I can’t pt a window in where the old dining room window was, as it’s now covered by a new wall to make space of a downstairs wetroom. Has anyone eveer put a ‘window‘ in the wall between a room and hallway? Did it increase the natural light into the room?
Our 60’s house has an internal window between one of the bedrooms and the hall - there’s no other natural light source into the hallway other than through open doors. It does let some natural light onto the landing but tbh I’d rather not have it. I had it reglazed in a more modern glass so it looks better than it did. Our next door neighbours replaced theirs with a wall - to me it’s much darker than ours so it must serve its purpose. I saw a post on here about “slot” windows the other day. At first I thought it was a typo but no, they’re a thing! They’re very, very narrow, long, slim windows a bit like clerestory windows. Could they work on your wet room wall?
