Non- matching roof tiles. Anyone recommend a roof finish to paint on?
Comments (5)Most roofing tiles, if they are not slate, are a kind of concrete so in theory they are paintable with either a masonry paint or something like Sikaflex which is designed for flat roofs. A masonry paint would require a sealer and at least two coats of finish in order to last any time at all. The main problem with painting a roof is that once it is painted it will always have to be painted, otherwise as it wears it will begin to look poor, normal masonry finishes depending on the substrate and position etc can last from 3 - 7 years if you are lucky, so that needs to be born in mind. PersonallyI would leave the roof to weather naturally....See MoreCan anyone recommend some tile suppliers for bathrooms?
Comments (6)If I were you, I'd search for some local independent stockists which might be able to give you some better advice and may have something a little different. If you take photos of the ones you like, they may be able to source something similar. We found this route much easier & less stressful after ordering countless samples from the Internet....See MoreRecommended floor tiles with Howdens Burford Stone kitchen
Comments (4)Hi Karen, We have just had large limestone tiles laid in our new kitchen / living / diner and they're one of my favourite things about the room. We have gone for a Shaker style kitchen with white / grey Quartz worktops (albeit the cabinetry colour probably isn't everyone's taste ) The tiles are 2cm thick and made from seasoned limestone, so have a lovely finish and texture and connect our different rooms beautifully. We have installed wet underfloor heating underneath. For context of size for the tiles, the island is 1.25m x 2.4m. As requested here are a few pics- excuse the unfinished state, as the kitchen is still being fitted and we haven't decorated yet, so the floor is quite grubby!! Super hard wearing!!! Hope this helps!...See MoreWhat sized tiles for hallway?
Comments (2)Hi Zack, grout line in the middle is not very nice and it's normally avoided. 60x60 tiles are more modern compared with 45x45 but generally speaking you should run one full tile 60x60 in the middle and two halves on each side. If you have a good quality picture of your hallway and a quality picture of the tile(s) I can generate a CGI (computer generated image) to show you what your hallway would look like.
