Hi Katy. Pretty room. I agree with Isidora above. Some nice prints or framed photos of your daughter and her friends would break the wall space in the room. It would add colour and add personality to the room. The bedroom furniture is lovely and is neutral, so if you're apprehensive about painting it, why not try some new knobs for the lockers and wardrobes instead. This can add some character without the hassle of painting. There are a few companies that do a great selection of knobs. Here is a link for one that I have used before. Best of luck. Thank you both for replying. Oval room blue looks lovely, however my husband is convinced it looks slightly green and he hates green. I definitely like the idea of light bedding with darker walls but am worried that the room will look small and oppressive with dark walls which is why I'm finding it hard picking the right colour. I want the room to look warm and relaxing. Dulux denim drift looks like a bluey grey and according to Dulux it goes well with neutral colours and wood. What do you think?

Agree that there is too much white - it all looks cold and uninviting at the moment - but I suspect you know that. A feature wall behind the bed - nothing too drastic - a light grey - just something to break up the whiteness. This would also take a large picture, and pick out a colour from the picture to change the colour of the duvet cover. Just a suggestion, but could the spare mattress be stored on top of the other mattress, as it does rather stick out at the moment?

So a dormer loft conversion costs the same as a side extension? It sounds like you'll be getting more space for the side extension for the same amount of money then. Have you had a look at other bungalows down your road or area that have had extensions vs no extensions and see what they have sold for, then you can see if it's worth it but who knows what the market will be like in a couple of years time. In terms of appealing to more when selling, people probably would prefer bedrooms upstairs but if bedrooms are larger and downstairs is huge it will be more attractive to buyers ( I think ) especially if there is a large family. Lots of new builds have a bedroom downstairs so it's not unusual plus families considering a bungalow won't be looking for the norm in terms of layout so 2 bedrooms downstairs is fine. You can also ask your estate agent that sold you the bungalow, get their thoughts on what is attractive to buyers, I'm sure they'll be helpful in case you'll use them in the future :-).
