Split large second bedroom with ensuite into two bedrooms
Comments (5)Thanks OnePlan. In answer to your question, this is somewhere we're planning on staying 'for life' so with a toddler and another one planned in the very near future we just thought it would be more practical to end-up with a large master with ensuite, good sized second bedroom and two smaller doubles - one each for the children and a guest room. I know it all boils down to individual circumstances, hence the above but it's otherwise a large property (nearly 2000 sq ft) in a lovely plot and area so the only real compromise seems the missing fourth bedroom....See Moreis this a good idea to make the bedrooms bigger?
Comments (5)Hi guys hope everyone are safe & well. Re the above, we may have problems getting planning as nextdoor have a habitable room on their boundary with a small window & a couple of roof lights & the extension would not fall within the 45 degrees rule. The builder also said the roof for the above design would be costly so we could look at extending at the back above the single storey extension (the foundations are deep enough) as that way we may be able to keep it as a 5 bed house. So.....we are looking to extend approx 6.5m x 4m deep over the single storey extension & use bed B & the old bathroom to: make bed A bigger move the bathroom into the front spare bedroom (where it says ensuite) create a master bedroom with ensuite, walk in wardrobe or wardrobes a small double bed I had a play around but I think it felt a bit cramped. Do you think it is doable before we pay for an architect to look at options? Thanks so much :)...See Moreextending 2 bedroom detached chalet bungalow into 4 bedrooms
Comments (6)I also don’t think you can live there while it’s being done. I think you should look into raising the roof then connecting the main house roof to the roof of the kitchen wing. I also don’t think you need to remove what looks like a top end conservatory. But you do need to find a good architect to help discuss what is possible and you need to think about your budget as it’s a big undertaking. For what it’s worth this is what I would do....See MoreConverting 2 bedroom flat into a 3 bedroom flat
Comments (3)In my opinion you can’t create more rooms than you have windows. So you should give the larger master bedroom to the children and divide it with furniture or screens that can easily be removed by the next people. You would then take the bedroom with the balcony or you would use this space as a living room, make an aperture to the kitchen then add a partition wall to the living end of the kitchen to annex a new bedroom. Be aware that any bedroom off a kitchen may require fire regulation approval....See MoreEllie
