Chipped work top - help!

Any recommendations on how to fix this? Small chip on our work top! :( My husband fitted our kitchen only a year ago so a bit gutted this has happened already 😢 Thanks in advance

I know that Milliput is a very good material for repairs such as this. I don't know how the white would look against the worktop but it will certainly look much better than it does now. I used to use it years ago when repairing picture frames - it gets good reviews.

It's a granite and resin composite worktop. It is templated and fitted the same as granite. Has all the same aesthetics- however it is much more water/stain resistant and scratch resistant. Let me know if you need any other help. Jade x

White quartz is incredibly popular right now as it adds the feels and look of granite but removes the flaws of the natural stone. You'll find some varied and different stories of life with a white quartz worktop but essentially what you've got to remember is that a little maintenance and care does work wonders. Another option would be Corian or similar acrylic worktop materials however this can be a little on the pricey side (kitchen size dependent) and does tend to need a little extra care and attention paid to it. One thing to consider aswell is what is the kitchen life like at home? Busy with a number of children running around? Pots and pans left on the worktop until the end of the day? Or is it a little less panicky etc. This will also play a huge part in your final choice of worktop material.

There are so many different types of work surface now its a mind field so make sure you take your time choosing. If your kitchen is predominately cream it would be nice to add a splash of colour on the work surfaces in a brown palette.

I’m not so bad at mind numbing work as I find it quite therapeutic. After discussing it earlier I walked past the top (which is actually in the bedroom and not a landing staircase ie it’s an attic room) and used the chisel lying on the floor to ataty scraping some off. Comes off very easily so I will just do a bit each day on the handrails and posts (leaving the spindles as they are mostly intact so will lightly sand) and I can sand it all when we move out :0) Thanks guys!
