Help! What colour should I paint my kitchen?
Comments (11)I must admit I am scratching my head a bit on this one - the two slightly different shades of cream don't make it easy! If everything wasn't split new, I think I would be recommending changing the tiles. I'm not a fan of painting tiles either, but I am really at a loss as to what to suggest. A teal perhaps or verdigris, but I think whatever colour you pick, the tile/cabinet combination may still feel a little unbalanced. Might be worth thinking what you can do to mask the tiles with nicely coloured appliances, possibly an accessory rail, fruit bowl, plants/herbs etc....See MoreWhat brand of paint for kitchen cabinets?
Comments (5)I personally would not use any brand of eggshell paint on a kitchen cupboard, it is not robust enough for the job. Gloss or satinwood is what you should be looking at. I've always used Dulux, but have recently defected to Valspar ( crown ) at B&Q due to issues with colour mixing, colour matching. We have just painted our utility room using this including plastic pipework. It's holding up great. ( Valspar for wood and metal is what i've used ) - Just get a good all round primer which will be dictated to by the type of cupboard door you have - The Armstead range of primers at Dulux trade centres is great paint....See MoreHelp please, what paint goes with grey gloss kitchen cabinets
Comments (8)Lovely kitchen! I think that the wooden floor you have chosen is a good choice. It will bring warmth to the scheme. I think an off white would be a good choice, something like Dulux Timeless or any of the off whites from F&B (see below). If you want more colour you could always paint the dining end a darker shade? I must say I do like T Gray’s Idea of matching your units then finding colours that go well!...See MoreNorth east kitchen paint cashmere cabinets black granite
Comments (0)Help, im renovating my modern ‘farmhouse‘ and having completed upstairs in grey, beige, sand and white colours (with the odd blue in bedrooms and bathroom) im renovating the kitchen so chose cashmere for the units This was partly because I didnt want to overload with the grey factor (the hall and landing are grey) and because I wanted some warmth and practicality. im having a stone effect floor tile in the kitchen, hall and utility. I thought some contrast in the kitchen would be good to break up the greige so choose black pearl granite. Now what do I do for walls? Make the units recede with similar paint or go lighter? i think elephants breath may be too dark as its north east but if its similar to the cabinets wouldnt that lighten the room? skimming stone is a colur picked out in the floor tile but will that clash with the granite? Maybe I should cancel the black granite? it took ages choosing to stay in budget and if I choose steel grey agranite i think there would be too many clashing patterns. Help! i also want a very durable paint so I was thinking Dulux Easycare maybe colour matched to skimming stome but Ive heard its a dreadful match! Floor tiles shown below with a kitchen photo I was using for inspiration at the start of plan, my units are a darker colour though (cashmere). If i go for skimming stone will that make the units feel opressive because they are darker?...See MoreJuliet Docherty
