Hand Painted on Site or Sprayed in the factory ?
Comments (13)Hi all, Some great advise has been given. I agree with the comments above, it depends on the finish you are looking for. If you want a more traditional finish I would paint on site, this gives a lovely hand painted finish with the brush strokes adding to the overall design of the kitchen. If you are looking for a more modern look to your kitchen, the factory finish will give a more flat finish with no brush strokes. Manufactures tend to lacquer the door using a spray to paint the furniture, giving a more uniform finish. Hope this helps, keep us posted on how you get on. Comments (11)Thank you so much for the lovely comments! This kitchen was painted using Tikkurila Feelings colour matched to Little Greene whitening 41. I remove all the doors, drawers & hardware. Then degrease & sand before applying colour matched Otex primer, then Tikkurila primer as an undercoat(also colour matched) followed by a few coats of Tikkurila Feelings. A light sand between coats is important to get a really solid, smooth finish. I highly recommend this paint system for it durability and aesthetic. It is gorgeous. Please take a look at my Facebook page to see other works completed. I am planning on updating my Houzz as soon as I get chance :-) please feel free to get in touch if you have any further questions. Thank you, Sharon....See MoreBest places for hand painted shaker kitchen
Comments (23)We’ve had our Davonport kitchen for just over a year now and I’d highly recommend using them. The fact that it’s handmade and carries a 25 year guarantee is what sold it to me! Have you been shown around the factory? If not - ask! I loved the showroom but the factory blew me away - that showed me how they can guarantee for 25 years. The passion Richard and his team have for design is infectious, they created not only a beautiful looking kitchen but a solution that truly works for all of my family....See MoreRevamped Hand Painted Kitchen
Comments (36)Hi Heather I dont think it is a Cooke & Lewis kitchen but we brought a couple of their integrated doors from b & q doors for our new appliances and they look the same. The painter just wiped on Owatrol ESP and left it to dry for a few hours, it says wipe of on the instructions but you shouldnt wipe it of. He painted 2 coats with a leyland mix oil based egg shell paint. We wanted a matt finish as apposed to a shiny finish. We left the inside of the cupboards the same colour. Here is the kitchen 1 year later it still looks as good as new....See MoreDaisy England
