Small narrow hallway
Our house has a small narrow entrance hall and I’m struggling with storage. I’m thinking a slim shoe cabinet maybe wall hung? But worried about putting a coat rack as it may look messy any suggestions on what to do with the coats? Also the radiator is quiet long, was thinking of either putting a small one or maybe a vertical one with a mirror if i can find it. please help

3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoThe narrowness of the hallway is the problem and the radiator is as flat as they can be! It would narrow the hallway if you replaced it with a radiator shelf (unless it is very narrow).
If you don't have any cupboard space in the other rooms or under the stairs, the wall space just under the window and to the left of the photo for wall hung storage.
Sorry, can't draw straight lines here (photo below) but you can see where there might be enough space for a narrow wall coat rack on the wall to the left of the photo.
Wall coat rack lower down for kids coats and jackets (photo). Placing the mirror on the left by stairs to reflect the light from the window.
Or use a mirror with shelves behind it as shown here:
Under the window, use hanging baskets for shoes - something like the ones in Amazon.

Amtico versus Kardean flooring
Comments (9)In reply to winterfloods:- We have Karndean 'Van Gogh - Antique Pine', which is also wood effect - even has woodworm holes on it. We had it laid about 6 years ago and it's the best floor we've ever had. It cover most of the ground floor including, snug, dining room, kitchen, utility room and downstairs bathroom. We have had the same non-slip in the Utility Room for the Dogs to zoom over and hopefully touch at some point for years. This one:- Rubber Mat. NEVER MOVES - and the dogs aren't small or careful! Our floor is the most forgiving floor we've ever had. The dogs don't scratch it, it's been flooded on twice, is never slippery, even when newly mopped. It disguises the dog hair and dirt until hoovered every day, ( they shed a lot of hair ). I think maybe your sister has just been unlucky. Comments (16)Hello Adam, Any electrician could do this job for you (installing led lighting), yes the strip lights and you actually don't need coving for it. It depends what is your style when decorating your home, is it Traditional, Minimalist, Contemporary, etc? Once you know what your style/styles are your favourite it's much easier to go from there. It’s a similar price to Farrow and Ball (maybe a tad more), but is bomb prove and scrubbable. 5 litres retails at £91, but I’ve discovered that Paint Depot online sell for £81 and also usually have a 10% off offer. When I bought from them, the paint was shipped direct from Mylands... Comments (18)In reference to your comments Keiblem, a ‘parred down’ look will be more suited to the space with minimum investment due to the property going to market in a few years. However, my concern with tiles are that they can present a safety hazard, and particularly in a hall where you come in straight from outside when it has been raining, there is a potential to slip on the tiles and inevitably fall over. I would never suggest a rug either, as once again, can present a precarious situation! The dark wood I have suggested was based on a preference for a darker shade of flooring, and equally the herringbone pattern is still so on trend and is timeless; also it’s easy to clean and slip-proof. As there is also some warmth in this flooring, it presents a more welcoming space,as if it were just all grey,could look rather washed out and without character. Hi, this is the floor plan, as you can see there isnt much space but i think we may be able to create an understairs storage in the dining room, and have nice doors that hopefully wont look out of place

I saw this pic in another thread and really liked it, its identical to my hallway, im now thinking of creating an understairs storage in the dining room and basically doing something like this with the corridor with a bigger mirror and more flush light
