Hi,
We've had some tiling work done as part of a whole house renovation. I am disappointed with the result for various different reasons but its all a bit borderline, so I'm not sure if I am being too picky, or whether I should stick to my guns and say that it's sloppy work. I am keen to know what people think as I am concerned about how best to proceed. The tiler has invoiced and wants paid. Thanks in advance!
Sloppy trim work in an area that is still to have some joinery work done.
The same area from a different angle.
A different bit of trim work. This really does annoy me, as it could have been avoided but it is really difficult to fix without ripping tile out. It is near where we will stand every time we wash our hands so it is pretty visible.
Same area not meeting at the corners.
Variations in the grout colour, which also came up way darker than the Mapei sample in one of the bathrooms, spoiling the concrete effect of the tiles.
Same area closer up.
There were a few areas like this, most have been sorted but there are a couple of bits remaining.
Another gap in the grout.
Pretty poor silicone work. This has been partially rectified in some areas, but due to the fairly large gaps between wall joints, the silicone is coming up very thick, dark and noticeable. This also spoils the overall effect but we can't do white as the rest of the grout work has come up too dark.
Thanks
