I voted 6, but it depends on the guests - not so much the size of them, but how comfortable they are being elbow-to-elbow with their fellow diners. So I'd suggest 6 for a relaxed supper for half a dozen people who either don't know each other well, or for whom some formality is appropriate (perhaps your boss and their spouse, or conservatively-minded prospective in-laws). But for a very laid back get-together, as many chairs as you can fit could be a guide: once when I dined with friends, the host had to sit on his kitchen bin and could use only his fork - and we had a whale of a time. Also on table-size: if I'm booking a restaurant table for an uneven number of people I often round the number up - e.g. I book a table for 6 if there are only 5 of us. Once we're seated and served drinks I then cheerfully lie and say our missing guest has cancelled. I don't do this at restaurants where I'm familiar with their seating policy - but some establishments squeeze 5 diners on a table that's only really suited for 4 - and that makes for very uncomfortable dining. Remember: restaurants are businesses out to make money - but as a diner, you are out to enjoy yourself - so don't be intimidated into curtailing your enjoyment.

Are you sure the limescale is created by steam or pots of boiling water? With my rudimentary understanding of physics I was under the impression the steam is only condensing water vapour and all the other bits are left behind eg. in the kettle. Hence why kettles get limescale build-up. So if it isn't limescale as such (the type you get on shower screens for instance), then things like vinegar would be pointless. And whilst we're on the subject, vinegar is an excellent and cheap limescale remover, which we often use in the house, but it shouldn't be used of surfaces such as marble or limestone.

It won’t matter where the kitchen is purchased from because they are all using the same manufacturers board. Matt doesn’t show the marks until they show in a certain light. I have found 2 different ways to clean mine - 1. Almost neat fairy liquid, wipe with a damp cloth and buff up with a microfibre duster. 2. Use Pink stuff spray (not paste) and again wipe off and buff up. Both have worked well for me.
