Rotpunkt Kitchen colour - help please?
Comments (10)It looks gorgeous. I agree about the ovens being s/steel. Are the units going to be a gloss finish? The local kitchen company by us that do the high end German kitchens had a full wall in a dark grey driftwood and it was stunning. I love the colour though and used it in my worktops as my kitchen couldn't take a dark colour (north facing!). The ultimate question is how much do you really like the colours scheme? Could you see it in ten years time still liking it? What if you change your wall colour and other decor - is it neutral enough to go with future changes? Re worktop wise, I was also told that Quartz can stain - like any worktop. They pretend it won't but it does. Corian I believe is more durable - fine line between them though. A slight fleck in it would help disguise any marks. You could of course cover the worktop with cutting boards where you use it or why not go for a different colour on one section and a darker colour on the place you either cook more or for the breakfast bar (where wine/coffee might be more likely to get spilled!)...See Morehelp needed with colours, please!
Comments (11)Thanks for that advice - yes, the blue/white is very cold (it's all over the house, so that's an ongoing project!).I have already started with the plants, in the bay window, to replace the "privacy" film that was stuck there before. I should have added to my original post that I have a number of Moroccan cushions, in red/orange tones, that rather dictate the general feel of the room. Perhaps a dark green in the alcoves would work? I'll have a think!...See MoreHiding tile half cuts, please help, tiler coming in 2 days!
Comments (22)Thank you very much for your comments A.S,, Kazza, Casa Ceramica and Jonathan. Apologies for my delayed response! The tiler did indeed suggest putting another layer of aquadry backer board over the moisture resistant mdf so thank you for your concerns. Trouble is he then discovered the edge of the bath has a manufacturing fault so the whole project had to be put on hold until a engineer comes out to solve it. It is so frustrating! Still gives me a little longer to decide how to deal with the chrome strip I want to put down the side of the bath panel and the bath. The tiler said it would not show up very well with the current design where the frame is flush with the bath. If I build it out by 5cm with a sliver of tile, I can have the full effect of it but the downside is the spacing between bath and basin is quite narrow. Your thoughts as always are very welcome!!!!
