I used a nonslip matting in our mug drawer in a previous house. It was a sort of mesh, and can be bought on a roll. It’s sometimes sold as a non slip tray liner. It had the advantage of being washable. Mugs in a drawer are definitely the way to go and when we redo this kitchen we will have a mug drawer once again!

I forgot to say, I think my mom slip liner came from IKEA, or possibly Lakeland. We don’t have a corner carousel, we find we can store more without one. In a previous house I had light weight things like mixing bowls on a carousel as we found glass and ceramic things were too heavy and made the carousel run lop sided. There’s usually room in the corners to fit in a few odd items too, and shallow dishes can go on the cupboard floor underneath the carousel. But I wouldn’t have a carousel again, too much space wasted for me.

Thanks Angie, I will look at your suggestions for the non slip stuff, sounds good.  The carousels are already in, and I agree the sides and underneath are great for those few awkward things that otherwise waste space elsewhere.  The carousels were chosen as a bit of nostalgia I suppose as I grew up with one and it was where my mum stored all the baking ingredients so holds some lovely memories of it.  Perhaps one will be our treats and snacks.
