Dull Living Room
Comments (13)Move the rug so that the sofa sits on it. It is currently a bit "stranded" in the middle of the floor. You may realise that you need a bigger rug or a second one but it will create connection if it's placed with an edge well under the sofa. Think about dumping curtains and curtain rail and getting lined, interlined Roman blinds at the window. You get more light, it creates more style without clutter and would allow you to bring in colour, pattern or texture without overpowering the room - simply because there's the folded fabric only during the day and then the panel when the blinds are lowered in the evening....See MoreHello! My living room is very dull and 'cold'.
Comments (7)It depends on whether you are north or south facing. North. I would suggest a quality taupe carpet as base. You can make ANY Colour decisions after that. If you overlook a garden look for beautiful modern greens - and purples as your first response suggest. You could have a feature wall in the purple - or a paper for added warmth and style. Lamps in patterned green - look at Pooky. Not cheap but lovely. Perhaps a rug with some green in it or with some stone plus purples? Curtains neutral but warm and padded. If south facing how about blue and white with cream carpet and large glass coffee table. Goes with every colour of flowers! Lovely with red for cushions in Winter. If you want a more masculine look, go for navy and white. Think Ralph Lauren. If south facing, what about shutters for the windows and no curtains....See MoreHelp! My living room looks a bit dull.
Comments (3)Put comfortable two "single" pieces of sofa and a planter and a huge lampshade at the corner...dont clutter your furniture. A music system across on the wall. Hang streams of green money plant leaves (artificial on the curtains) allow it to sway in the breeze. Place lanterns on balcony beyond and a real life planter which you can look after.....See Morewhat ideas to warm up this place. currently very dull
Comments (16)Hello John! :) October Squash painted on the back wall as a feature wall would look gorgeous and brighten up the room, making it really warm and inviting! Here is a link: http://www.paintbyconran.com/en-GB/collections/kitchen-garden/m/product/view/71/preserve-elements Also, have you thought about purchasing any nice throws for the sofas or bright pillows?! I like your plants, too. Perhaps even buy some more plants and make it a themed room? It would look really cool and the warmth of the orange wall and soft throws would balance out the tone of the room perfectly! Let me know if you need anymore help.
