Need some ideas for a very small office
Comments (10)Hello Mawlw, Yes storage in a small room can be tricky... If you have files and things... The last thing you want to do is have large pieces of furniture storing things... I would suggest putting a shelf all the way round the top of the wall but far enough from the ceiling height to allow for storing files etc... Paint the shelf white all the way around and even buy white files... Or boxes... that way you can store out of your eye view and still find what you need.. This free's up the space so you can make it appear bigger than it is... If the walls are not partition then you can add more weight just remember the raw plugs!!... Get really good brackets, Ikea do some lovely wooden ones No need to paint those.. I'd say 3 per shelf length of a m2 length & continue all round the walls to the window but not over unless there is the height above.... The other thing is that if you want a stylish office room. Get a good chair and you can get a table and shelf combo that leans up against the wall... See images... One of them is from Houzz! I love them both though... You get more floor space which in turn lends to a tranquil working environment... . : ))...See MoreIdeas for a very small garden
Comments (19)Love Jens bike storage and it ticks another box since if you keep herbs up there they will get even more sun and easier not to forget to water them. Think you can create a little courtyard effect in your space and it will be fab. I can’t post pics but I’ve just saved a pic to my ideabook called DISCUSSION that shows an incredible simple “pergola” that would probable span the depth of your space. If you did this it would create something for the eye to look up to and take away focus from fence being close. And it would be something to attach solar lanterns to or hanging herb baskets or decorating bunting for birthday parties even. Plus you could train a climber up it without risking the climber taking over and blocking too much light as it might with a normal pergola. Anyhow just an idea!...See MoreAdvice on how to warm up kitchen with colours and textures
Comments (39)Hello, I don't normally comment but you have inspired me to get on and do my splashback, been using some propped up flooring for two years. I have bought various sample tiles and now have some pretty trivets and placemats ! Your kitchen looks much more inviting and together with a few changes and good choices. I really like the tiles, sadly don't think green will suit my kitchen but where did you get them ? Hoping they might have something for me. thanks Ali....See MoreWhat colour to warm up a cool grey exterior in a country house?!
Comments (7)Ok, so here are a couple of photos of the colour. I have a wooden gate at the front of the house which is painted in 'Windmill Lane' (Little Greene), so don't want to go OTT on green, as I also like the fact the gate is a different colour. The front of the house is a bit dated in terms of its style, but with some big planters containing climbing roses which will grow up and around the storm porch, this should also soften the look and make it more 'country'. Also, the border which is currently dark grey, is going to be painted in Rock Salt too. So looking for a bit of colour on the window ledges only. I'd be really grateful for your advice/ideas!...See MoreAmber Jeavons Ltd
