hi all, sorry i've been offline for a while. well the cabinets are (mostly!) in. the tiles have arrived. They're from here http://best-tile.co.uk/ I LOVE them! I've been planning moroccan tiles in my home since i first went there about 10 years ago! just a few more bits to finish off before finally deciding a colour scheme. I'll try to add a photo later, i'm a bit busy finishing off my dissertation this month so the kitchen is taking a back seat. Cinderellaslipper i like what youa re saying - it makes sense. i'm not sure if i should take the tiles to be colour matched or try matching to the samples in the shop. the budget is non-existant so i don't want to end up spending loads on sample pots.

God I love your cabinets and worktop - don't change a thing! You could add pops of colours - almost anything will look good as a nice neutral pallet. Do you like maybe a soft lavender which always goes nice with the soft grey-green of cupboards? F&B Elephants Breath has a hint of it. I'm glad to see everyone saying leave cupboards as they are. They are gorgeous. Hope you find inspiration from some of these comments and this amazing website. Good luck,

The island could be farrow and ball drawing room blue or it could even be railings, it can show as quite blue depending on the light in the room. The cabinets look like blackened or dimpse. Or on my screen anyway :)

We purchased handleless kitchen under the impression of easier clean and I was wrong. When you have a handle you only use the handle to open the cupboard, and with finishes like brushed steel, finger prints barely show up. With handleless, well you have the entire Base of the cupboard. In hindsight, profile handles would have worked better; it would allow cleaning the cabinets in a single swipe but ensures the entire Base isn't touched. I have found with our gloss cabinets that touching them with dry hands doesn't mark them; rather a slightly damp hand Marks them; Also I prefer to use glass spray and window cloths to wipe down the units to ensure there are no spray marks.
