Hi, thanks for your reply. I wasn't sure about just side to side as there would only be 900 width on Option 2 because that would be the offcut size left. (think I would need 1200 to sit two people next to each other?) so people would still need to sit corner to corner on it which is what my designer had mentioned could be done. But it's a big square then.

If I did the 616 worktop, then this could be longer so we could have on base unit at the wall and then open space to the side.

People could then sit on the edge and on one corner, or, move the chair around and sit opposite each other if no one is using the sink or cooking at that point.

Just not sure how to add the leg so it looks nice and doesn't interfere with say 3 persons around it for example?

a 600 or 616 worktop isn't suitable for a b/bar or peninsular as its only finished on the front edge ie bullnose or square edging, if you worktop is square edged than you could apply an edging to the back of the worktop, ideally you want a 665/670 wide worktop as this does come double bullnosed or factory edged on both sides. by the sounds of it you've spoken to howdens [as they do 616 worktops] and they should of explained this to you

Ah no, he didn't mention about the edging issue ! Lol. I guess we will have to tape it but the worktops are straight edges anyway so that's not as bad.

We just have some worktop left over so wanted to use it
