Hi Helen, Quartz is a fantastic material with some beautiful options. However you should look at Corian as you get a seamless finish when you continue this up the walls as your splash back. This will be really practical for behind the sink. The best advise I can give you is to keep it all very simple, therefore when you place this property on the market the new owners will fall in love with it. I would use railings on your pantry doors to give a nice colour contrast. Hope this helps Alfred

Hi Kat, the tiles were riven quartzite tiles (see link) and they weren't too pricey but I would go for honed as the riven were very riven. We ordered far too many and selected the ones we wanted. Make sure they are sealed before grouting. The paint is Light Bronze Green and I chose it to bring out the violet tones in the pale oak. Got the shelf idea from an old Conran book and it is so useful. @Carolina@Sonia I like that too! Goodness now I'll have to make a decison ;) I think as suggested the best way to start is to get some floor samples first, problem is shops are all shut. Should have started this a few weeks back!

My sister dithered for ages what to have. In the end they chose navy blue/grey for all the units and very pale grey walls. Worktop was a beige-green and it looks fab.
