Yes, it is so difficult trying to visualise while the existing stuff is still in there. The new shower wall panels and enclosure will be the first to go in once everything else is ripped out and so I will have a much better idea of the look of it then. We may not bother with the panels at all around the outside and leave it bare wood. The 'problem' with living in a log home is there is very little scope for decorating or changing things, and so the panels were going to be my little thing to be able to change!! A little treat if you like! I have lots of other sample paints too... lighter blues, with grey undertones, which I don't like as stand alone colours, but may look great next to everything else. As for the toilet... it is going to be a traditional style toilet and as all the other fittings will be black... shower, tap, towel ladder etc I thought it would blend with those, rather than being all white? The flush handle is black. I do have the option of a blue seat too, the same as the furniture. It came as a set. But again, once it is in those things can be changed if it doesnt look right. The photos I attached dont show the true colour of the room... the photos look quite orange. The lights will changed to be much brighter, white spots (in a black casing!) rather than being quite dull like they are now.

I think you should look at lots of american houses on Houzz as they often have log cabins in lake locations for ideas. I understand your black or blue toilet seat idea now but thats a small detail. Are these panels to be fitted as part of your reno? If they are not then I would wait to see how it looks after all the modern fittings are in place. It's going to look great. The blue is such a good foil for the wood.

I’m not sure which picture has the pannelling sample? Or the shower wall sample? They’re very dark and hard to make out. However, I personally wouldn’t add pannelling. You have a log cabin and I think you need to embrace that. I like the blue vanity, but not the idea of a black toilet seat. I can remember those when I was growing up in the 1960s and they never looked good. Here’s some log cabin shower room ideas which may inspire. I particularly love the first one even though it’s a bath.

We do love our cabin, and every room is the original wooden walls, with a lot of tartan, browns etc. My kitchen is stunning to me and blue tiled with cream units, and the fireplace is a lovely rich marbley copper and blue tile. Works really well. So I wanted to keep the flow through to the shower room. We built it 24 years ago, and our bathroom was very much a budget clinical white and so I thought that this room is probably the room I can have a play with a bit of paint etc! Just for a bit of a change! The photos may have been a bit confusing.. so the shower enclosure has to have some form of tile/wet wall type panelling and we have chosen Linda Barker corten elements. It is bronze/copper colour. The pic here is a better one showing it from their website. The panelling around the rest of the walls is the tonge and groove style. That's my 'play' thing for painting! All of the existing panelling etc will be taken out. The black toilet seat will hopefully match all of the black shower, enclosure, taps and towel rail. Similar to this ai version, but the blue panels only half height with the wood left bare above. Thos pics you put on are lovely! I like the 1st one best too.

That corten style shower wall is gorgeous and will tie beautifully with the blue. The tall panelling in the second picture is most attractive and I really like the paint colour in that picture, possible F&B De Nimes or Oval Room Blue? Would it look odd panelling just half the wall, maybe?

The shower wall is stunning. I have it laid down ready to go in my workshop and I can't stop looking at it! The blue furniture is stood next to it and it does look good together. Can't wait for it all to go in. My kitchen table is covered in sample paint pots and painted sheets of card! De Nimes is one of them, along with Kittiwake, Lulworth, Parma Grey, Selvidge and Little Greene's Grey Stone. Along with of course Stiffkey. So lots of combinations to try when it is finally up and see what does or doesnt work. I looked for the more grey undertone blues, to go with the furniture. Oval Room is nice, but I think more of a green undertone? The panelling will go all the way around, but t half height. The top half of the walls will be the natural wood... similar to this

Yes Oval Room Blue is more greeny-blue, I have it in my kitchen! Sometimes it is hard to envisage something a bit different, so your last pic shows it does work. I think you’ve got it sorted. Good luck with it all! I would love to see the end result, if you don’t mind sharing it.
