The darker the better. Move away from the boring magnolia and neutral colour schemes, soooo dull. We've just re-done our bedroom, couldn't stand the magnolia any more. Went for one of the darkest shades of green we could get and we absolutely love it. We've bought the additional colour of baby-pink in with a throw for the bed and a couple of cushions. All furniture is still pale. Everyone absolutely loves it, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Mind you, we've just done a wall in our sitting room a F&B Stiffkey Blue and it's LUSH !!! I would definitely have this in a bedroom as well.

Holly C. is right, don't let that colour limit you if you don't like it. If you do keep it try to think of perhaps changing the handles. We often find that timber is much warmer and a more enjoyable material to touch. This could mean that you could put in Ash or Oak handles and then look for similar other furniture (e.g. bed frame and bedside tables). You could then match a white curtain. When we design we generally avoid keeping carpets as they collect dirt and look bad after a short while, so another suggestion would be to remove them entirely if the floor below (timber?) is nice. then add a large rag partially under the bed. All depends on your style and what you like which is a personal experience and taste based on your entire life and memories so I would suggest having a good look on Pinterest and seeing what you really admire and then implementing in your scheme. good luck. www.dorarch.com

I would take inspiration from your lovely curtains. So use the taupe for the walls. I would also use the lilac-pink colour maybe when dressing the bed, so have white bedding and lilac-pink cushions and throw. Then have art that coincides with the curtain colours. Lilac can be quite a cool colour but it does look lovely with pale grey or taupe.

I agree with Minnie. The dark grey is too dark and I think painting the walls and all those wardrobe doors one colour would be more cohesive. I absolutely love the pink in the bathroom, it’s so warm and inviting. If you didn’t want to paint the wardrobes Setting Plaster, you could try a very pale soft grey maybe with a grey bed? Something like Ammonite by F&B or Goose Down by Dulux? I would keep the room calm without panelling, although I do love panelling! I’ll try and find some images.
