Depends what you mean by kitchen pendants. Do you mean the trio of lights over an island? I like them and it’s always good to light up a prep or cooking area.

Sonia Yes over a island. I can't decide if I want it to be with a shade to diffuse and make it soft or really utilize the light with clear glass. I like both a lot but I also don't want ot be cleaning all the time . Also someone said it might be harsh to see the bulb?

I really need more information about the kitchen style, colour and surrounding area to suggest anything suitable. Make sure whatever pendants you choose are hung at the correct height so that you can access them for cleaning. Mine are far too high. Not my decision. Previous owner must have had very long arms or maybe thats why the glass was dirty when we bought the house:). There are so many options now. A slim metal bar can look very sophisticated rather than the obligatory triple pendant arrangement. If they are too close together they also look wrong. Some of the smaller islands would be better with a pair. Tell me what you like and I'll post some links for you. Oh, passe is over as in the trend is already dead.

Personally I would prefer not to just have bulbs without a shade. Everything in a kitchen needs cleaning at some point including light pendants. My sister has these so I must ask her how she cleans them! If they’re not too high you could dust them with a feather duster?

My ceilings are just under 8 feet ( I know I know!!) I need to ask my dh the measurements exactly but I think we were talking 13-14 in diameter

Its a fresh crisp white kitchen with brushed gold handles and a white lightly veined countertop and backsplash ( very quiet, clean, timeless.......... not trendy or fussy )so I am not sure

I happen to be a artist so I like lots of looks. But I really want to not let myself be funky in this area just clean and maybe a little whimsical but nothing in a trend

So I don't start a new thread a annoy jan what simple moulding with my kitchen? My builder has a nice fancier moulding or square. I have not seen samples. The cabinets go to the ceiling but their is a gap and because the ceiling is not straight it is wider in some areas.
