finished...ended up with plain curtains but may embellish them at a later date. Mirror in box because other half not sure. (excuse toadstools. .. they're gor Christmas. Just need dog grate and pics on walls. Very happy though .

I went with Perfect Fit Venetians for my new French doors. They fit into a frame so blinds don't flap around when you open the door . There is also a handle at the base to pull up and down to reveal the glass and a switch at the top to open and close slats. I personally prefer the aluminium as they were the more hygeinic option for a kitchen and don't hold onto cooking smells. I think curtains blowing in the wind when the door is open always look as if they are escaping.

It is a lovely floor and I can see a curtain keeping out a cold night. Since you have committed to blue with the stair carpet I say get curtains to match. Personally I would get a chunky painted wood pole and choose a plain fabric that disappears into the wall and keep the floor as the focal point. I would choose a plain heading, have the curtain blanket lined and just have one big curtain on the hinge side of the door. If you do like pattern I would use it with restraint and just add a little on the top few inches (probably using the top window as size inspiration).

Paint a white A4 sheet of paper with a few coats of your paint, ensuring it's thoroughly dried. Hold up to the wall to make sure you've got a good match, if not, add a little more paint. Then take the paper shopping with you when you go to choose curtains.
