Shaded White, Stony Ground and Light Grey are all complementary to clunch. What else is there in the room to work with? Could you upload a pic to give a better idea?

Hi. I would bring forward the sofa about 3ft forward from where it is now. Add a long console/sideboard etc behind the sofa (door ŵall) with a pair of matching table lamps and a set of 8/12 symmetrical art prints over the top. Add a console behind the sofa back facing the kitchen and accessorise (not with lamps!). Move the coffee table in front of the sofa. I'd move the tv to the other side of the fire and have someone make a cabinet to fit the tv just something similar to your yellow one). Pop a couple of lamps on this cabinet. Move the chair to the other corner (but not right in it) and pop a floor lamp or your existing one behind. I'd go for art over the fire, something with mainly a white background picking up a little of your colours. I think a light would be fine over the dining table, it won't lower the ceiling further as you've got the extractor, and as the table isn't symmetrical to the island I think it would work. Alternatively remove the light fitting and have an arc lamp on that rhs ŵall partly over the table.What ŵalls were you looking to decorate? Is the blue going? I think given the colours in the room I'd go grey, white or a duck egg could work for the main ŵalls.

Homes should be about individuality not breaking the bank. Hide the wires consider a good floor covering perhaps a lovely rug and build with what you have and enjoy the experience if you tire then just move much loved pieces to other rooms for a total new look. I love homes that are about the people who live in them makes me want to stay and have a cuppa your small pic here gives that vibe maybe the warmth of the wood in here im not sure but dont go to mad and spoil the feel that you already starting to create by getting to many boring mass produced highstreet junk in there
