Obviously this is not drawn to scale so you will need to make sure that the individual interior spaces meet your needs. The thing that struck me about the current layout is the lack of hallway (very small). As someone who has made do with a porch that leads straight in2 the lounge for years (there is only 2 adults in my home) I can tell you that this arrangement isn’t going to be very satisfactory for very long, especially if this is a family home and/or there is a pooch in the mix, so I would recommend considering addressing this as part of your plans. Depending on how much office you need there is also potential to cut out some space for a coat and bench area adjacent to the WC. I have closed off the side exterior door in this plan but I dare say there is argument 4 keeping it as a family friendly entrance to ensure your front hall area is kept really smart. I also made the conscious decision not to remove the solid structure between your kitchen and new open plan living/dining area. Like so much at the moment, construction costs have skyrocketed so I wanted to present an alternative, although of course, reintroducing a hallway will divert funds away from your original intentions anyway so it’s all swings and roundabouts. Yes I think so 😊 One is for us en-suite. The other en-suite will be for our daughter, and family bathroom will be used by our son.

Hi Lola, A very good afternoon, Some excellent suggestions provided by Isla, and some further guidance points for you to explore: The first things to think about is how you want the space to serve you functionally, and list out: 1. How it will be used during the different times of the day? (i.e: children in the daytime, adults for reading e.t.c in the evening?) 2. What new equipment will need to be added 3. Where the new equipment will be located (accommodating electrical points - do new ones need to be added to fit the layout?) 3. How many people does the space need to accommodate from a functional perspective, side tables, sofa's e.t.c.. Knowing the above information succinctly will enable you to tailor the space to fit your family needs There are a few layout options available to you based on this information: for example: as Isla suggested will you have a projector screen? as the main walls are dominated by fireplaces, if so where will this item fit in the space - in front of the fireplaces, between the fireplaces or the walls opposite the fireplace walls I enclose some drawings of layouts, one of which replicates your current space, and the others to illustrate how the spaces have zones created within them (despite being one larger room) to accommodate all the functional needs of the space occupants for you to think about!
