Improving house front

Hello, I’d like to transform the current front of this terraced house - currently pebbledash, white uPVC windows, door and front garden in need of TLC.

I’m considering the following, and would love to hear your ideas:

Spray paint uPVC windows in anthracite grey or similar (colour like houses on either side). I’d consider replacement windows but as current ones are in decent shape, I don’t think I could justify the much higher cost.
Shutters (off-white)
Possibly paint pebbledash off-white. This is my biggest head-scratcher. Current pebbledash is somewhat loose when touching, so would likely require fixing before painting. But I find the current look rather unattractive. House to the right offers some inspiration in terms of windows and painted pebbledash, while the one to the left has dark windows but bare pebbledash. Thoughts?
I have considered climbing plants instead of painting, but it may look a bit too unkept / out of place especially in a terrace where the others don’t have it?
Possibly sash roof (like in house to the left)?
Repair original front door and repaint, possibly to match windows (anthracite) or stone/olive colour.
Front hedge to around 1.5m (species to be determined - like yew but would prefer something faster growing)
Possibly pave front garden with natural stones, with a large terracota pot or two. Maybe lawn and paving, not sure.

I think I’d leave the pebble dash and windows tbh, not keen on the dark grey ones and the pebbledash adds warmth.

i think the garden needs some work and i’d include storage for the wheelie bins.

If you were able to take a photo of the house straight on I could play around with AI as it distorts the image taken at an angle.

Do you mean interior or exterior shuutters?

I agree entirely with Minnie - in my opinion your house, as it is, looks so much better than either of the neighbouring houses!

I rather like your facade. I would think twice about painting the brickwork, as this would be a maintenance headache, but cleaning it would brighten it up. Otherwise stucco and paint the front ( brickwork) only? i would clad your existing canopy in lead, but leep the existing shape. Is the tarmac yours? If you could change this to something lighter and softer, this would have a really big impact. Clad the stairs in slate or indian sandstone, get rid of the block screen and replace with glass, ( marine grade stainless steel fittings and door furniture) black iron railing for the steps.

Rather than render, that can stain (my neighbour's new render keeps having to be redone as it's stained in the corners of the window and is now beginning to break up, despite being carried out by specialists), why not consider weatherboard cladding? It's cement, comes in a variety of colours, requires no maintenance and provides extra insulation. I used it on a first floor extension to my home and absolutely love it. I’m just coming to the end of renovating a 1960s bungalow and I’ve gone for render and cedar cladding. It’s generated a lot of attention from people passing but and personally is a style that I think works so well with 1960s/1970s properties.

If it were my house, I’d paint the flashing beneath the first floor bay window black, and the front door a lovely bright colour, perhaps turquoise. Do you need all the drive area for parking? If not I’d take up curved area of pavers on the left (leaving a walkway of pavers in front of the window) to create a bed and introduce some structured planting. Depending on how the pavers are set, though, that may be a significant job. In the meantime, add a couple of large planters with something like bay on either side of the front door. It’s often a good idea to check with neighbours to see what grows well in the particular conditions of your front gardens.

The beige pebble dash is what bothers me the most actually - I suppose it may be one of those things people either love or hate, but I can't help but notice that it makes the house stand out, not necessarily in a good way, as all other houses in the street (aside from the four in this terrace) are Victorian with either exposed bricks or painted bricks... The other point is the state of the pebble dash is not great, with some chunks having fallen off (not particularly visible unless you look intently, but still) and pebbles being loose in places; so may need to do something to it at some point, hence I'd need to think whether to restore to original pebbledash or take the opportunity to change it...

Well if you don’t like the pebbledash i guess you’ve got 3 options, depending on your budget. It may be worth getting some quotes.

This is the repair and paint option (I gave next door some shutters too lol!). Personally I’m not as keen on the dark windows but it does obviously blend with the neighbours and it’s obviously what you prefer that counts!

i do think money spent on the garden will have a great impact though
