I have three 1m square tables which I can use together or separately as I wish. Works very well.

I had a similar design quandary - hunt for OnePlan on Houzz. She has a sliding scale of design charges, and we paid for a couple of hours design work. She came up with several designs for us, and we were able to make some changes which she incorporated into the final sketch. We're currently getting quotes for the actual build.

I have lots of different plants in different sized coloured pots such as roses bushes, an 'annabelle' hydrangea - a large white head bloom, buddleias, other coloured hydrangeas, palms, apricot tree, fig tree, apple and some more. The point I'm making is the plants in the pots will make a huge difference and break up the grey slabs. You could also position some of the pots around a table and chairs or a bench. You have the flexibility to arrange the pots how and where you would like them without having to dig the garden and still get the colourful flowers and blooms.

Minnie, thank you. That does look lovely, I love swings but we can't have that hanging from the ceiling. And the standing swings I have seen all feel like outdoor ones. I will take a pic of the wider space, but it is mainly a fairly large kitchen with dark blue units, white countertops and white tiled flooring that you see in the picture. We have an island with bar stools, 2 blue and 2 yellow. And a wood coloured dining table on the other side of the room. This particular area is next to the Patio doors leading to the garden. I'm looking to create a small cozy area here for sitting down when someone is cooking or watching kids play (I have a play mat and a few toys set up in front of the area too)
