Hi. Given your preferred style I might look at a venetian plaster effect wallpaper or similar as it won't close the room in. This one is from designers guild and has metallic elements.If you have the room (hard to tell from pic) you could add an old wooden bench at the end of the bed just to add interest with the rug. If you change the light then maybe a chandelier of sorts. A large vase of flowers or stems one side of the bed as per last pic. I'd add the interest with cushions and throws on the bed in different patterns and textures in your preferred colours. Perhaps a juju hat on the ŵall (although they're not cheap!) or a collection of hats and art. If there's room a large mirror opposite the window will add more light and increase the feeling of space.

Controversially, I think they are in, for certain rooms ( big windows, high ceilings) and certain looks ( boho, maximalist, steam punk, whimsical). Check out House of Hackney for old school chintzy style done in an edgy way. it's not for everyone but I like elements of it. I have a load of pelmet fabric, already swagged with attached tassly fringes, which came with my second hand curtains. The curtains are up and the pelmets will be once I summon the strength. Whole house renovation is an absolute time sucker. I have about a dozen ongoing diy jobs on at the moment and now I have a living room Netflix is soo tempting... the pics are a bit rubbish as I'm still considering the curtains a work in progress. The left ones still aren't hung correctly. Plus, it's not hugely obvious but the curtains are cobbled together from two pairs, hence horizontal seam halfway down.

Looks like a great project and like MATH says it’ll need a good amount of work. I too would first make certain that the shelves can be removed if you want to put glass ones in. Mirror tiles in the back could look good, but might add extra weight and be tricky to put in. Wallpaper is the easiest option and there lots of great designs, if the back of the cabinet can come off this will make it vastly easier to apply paper. The design on the doors looks great but the tape does not :), you could possibly renew the design with stick on leading, not a professional look I admit but probably better than what is there now. I do like the door handles though... very swish. I’d paint outside the cabinet and door frames solid black and have it really blingy on the inside but that’s my personal choice. Here’s some ideas.
