Comments (3)I'm not sure on the extraction ratio but I couldn't live without a powerful, quiet range hood that vents outside. I think especially in a open plan kitchen, your going to want it as quiet as possible. My last one had the motor outside, mounted on the roof in the vent/chimney. It was so quiet and a pleasure to have on high if required. It was placed over neff induction hob....See MoreRecommendations for island cooker hood

Comments (6)Hello! It very much depends on the overall look of your kitchen and the layout. If having the cupboard above the cooker is imperative to make the kitchen feel more cohesive then making sure that your integrated extractor has sufficient power to be effective - your kitchen supplier will be able to tell you what they supply for that. A ceiling extractor is discrete, but, if you enjoy cooking and making fumes, a ceiling extractor is not likely to work as well as a good ventilating hob. If you do speak to Westin, I think they will tell you that a ceiling extractor is not the best solution for cooks who like to make lots of vapours, especially with smokey cooking. A ceiling hob is usually too high to be effective for serious cooks, unless it has a very powerful motor and has a deep inclined baseplate, which does not help your issue. A venting hob can extract outside (with forward planning) or, in most cases, recirculate. The expense isn't that high given that you get a hob and extractor in one....See MoreBrickwood Builders, Inc.
