Bedroom with uneven ceiling

I am about to purchase a small house previously owned by a disabled person. I will need to keep the pink bedroom carpet but need advice on brightening the room décor-wise, particularly how to decorate around the dropped ceiling. Which colours would brighten up the room please? Also, do you have any ideas on décor for the sitting room and it's Wedgewood blue carpet please?

I would agree that white would be a good choice for the walls. Remove the curtains and use white roman shades or wood blinds or shutters would be wonderful. Go with beautiful white bedding with an accent of pale aqua. Use lots of different textures in white.

Ignore the ceiling. It's a fabulous architectural feature but it doesn't require any special treatment.

Paint the walls Navaho white by Benjamin Moore, this looks just like my basement and I used this color and it's beautiful!

Definitely Wevet on the ceiling as well. Doing this means you don't see the 'join' of the roof and walls and makes the room feel much bigger. We did this with my mum's 300 year old cottage bedrooms in New White. It looked gorgeous.

Hi Jo, Love the high ceilings. Having floor to ceiling wardrobes may be quite overpowering in the room and take over from the space. My thought would be to have a partial wall behind the bed that would create a walk in wardrobe and then place the bed in front. I am attaching some ideas below. Silver or creamy white tin ceiling tiles would brighten that right up and add visual interest.

Pink carpet and grey walls and dropped ceiling , it looks like you will not be able to have long curtains because of the heat er under the window ,so you could have a blind or shutter installed and get 2 long panel to flank the side of the window . For the dropped section of the ceiling you can paint the ceiling and the wall all in 1 colour this will wrap everything together .
